American director will not make any movie, INLAND EMPIRE was his last film.
This was stated by the American director himself in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, for the premiere of Twin Peaks.
At the interview, there is a moment in which Lynch reflects on the film industry:
“Things have changed a lot, many movies were not working well at the box office even though they could have been great movies and things were running smoothly were not what I wanted to do”.
Faced with this reflection, the interviewer asks: Was it 'Inland Empire’ the last?. After a few seconds, Lynch answers:
“Yes, it is”.
A real shame for all we hoped it would Twin Peaks Lynch wings to return to the big screen.
