The award was presented by the Italian Paolo Sorrentino.

After the great recognition he had David Lynch in Cannes, when he was cheered for more than 5 minutos in the first Twin Peaks, Last night paid tribute in Rome.

The Rome Film Festival gave him the “Career Award” de manos of Italian director Paolo Sorrentino, who defined it as “teacher” and who said that his works show that “the unknown is within us and to know himself is a myth”.

Among the things he said, It strikes us who recognized many years ago have written a script for a film about Kafka's Metamorphosis, but he decided not to shoot it:

“I wrote the script for many years but the beauty of Kafka resides in that it is expressed in words. It is a story full of words and when I finished the script I realized it was probably better to leave it as a book”
